The Cardinals came up short last night, so rather than showing off a shiny group of Cards cards that I got in a trade, you get a cruddy pack of 1991 Donruss Series 2, donated by Captain Canuck of Waxaholic. We exchanged a few 2009 Allen & Ginter cards and this found its way into the padded envelope. Enjoy?
671 - Gary Varsho (Starting things off with a lousy Cub.)
721 - Jeff Gray
716 - Mike Stanton (One of the last few guys from the '80s to retire.)
710 - John Mitchell
704 - Reggie Harris (I love the elephant.)
697 - Al Leiter
697 - Al Leiter
693 - Sandy Alomar Award Winner (Nice blurry press conference photo. I thought these were reserved for players who had just switched teams.)
688 - John Barfield
682 - Roberto Alomar (Two-for-two with the Alomars.)
676 - Mike Jackson
670 - Ken Hill (Hey, at least I got a Cardinal. Maybe it's a good omen.)
666 - Willie McGee (Nice card of Willie Dean in the wrong uniform. This was the year that he won the NL batting crown while playing for Oakland.)
720 - Bob Kipper
715 - Terry Leach
19/20/21 - Willie Stargell puzzle pieces complete with wax residue.
So, there you go. Come on, though. 30 LOBs? That was one of the worst playoff games I've ever seen. Let's hope for some better baseball (and pitching) tonight.
