Pack 1:
35 - Mike Piazza (I think my dislike for Piazza has faded a bit with age. He was a tremendous hitter for a spell.)
18 - Hideki Matsui
40 - Roger Clemens (I never liked Clemens and never will.)
46 - Todd Helton
ASB-4 - Willie McCovey All-Star Classics Box Score 1969 (These are pretty interesting, although I hate how small the player picture has to be. Each insert is a 1:24 pack pull.)
- Dummy Card
98 - Tom Seaver
51 - Adrian Beltre (Along with current All-Stars and "Legendary" All-Stars, there are All-Star Futures cards like Beltre. Beltre made his first All-Star team just this season.)
Pack 2:
36 - Nomar Garciaparra (My mother actually called me tonight to ask me a crossword puzzle question where "Nomar" was the answer. She only vaguely recalled his name.)
22 - Jason Varitek
20 - Ivan Rodriguez
1 - Albert Pujols (I'm hoping Pujols has a big game to kickstart a big second half. Holliday's got it going already, so now it's Albert's turn.)
- Dummy Card
59 - Tadahito Iguchi (I don't think Iguchi ever made an All-Star team.)
60 - Jake Peavy (Out for the year? Ouch.)
Pack 3:
4 - Barry Zito
36 - Nomar Garciaparra (Again.)
22 - Jason Varitek (Again.)
ASM-1 - Hank Blalock / Eric Gagne All-Star Classics Matchups (This was a rather dubious pull. Gagne never made it back to the game in a successful way after his Dodgers heyday and Blalock recently got released.)
- Dummy Card
63 - Jeff Francis (Ack, Rockies! Get 'em away!)
71 - Oliver Perez (Wow. Is Odalis Perez in this set, too?)

I would seriously like to see Ubaldo Jimenez pitch about 6 or 7 innings tomorrow night and have at least one league treat this like a serious game for once. If other teams complain, tell them to take it up with good ol' Bud. He's the one who decided to make "this one count"... and the next one... and the next one...
Ouch. That Blalock-Gagne card brings up painful memories. It's what makes me hide behind a pillow every time a Dodger pitcher enters the All-Star Game.
