Congratulations to mmosley of Stats on the Back, who correctly picked 23 out of 35 games for a total of 452 "confidence points" who takes 1st place in this year's contest. Andy of Community Gum was narrowly defeated on points (448), having also picked 23 games correctly. Since there were so many participants this year, I also opted to award a prize to the third place finisher, which goes to Bo of Baseball Cards Come to Life!
And finally, because life does not always produce winners, there is this year's "winner": Rhubarb_Runner of “é rayhahn, rayhahn”. Only 16 games were picked correctly on this entry for a whopping 271 points, the lowest total of any entry which actually selected a pick for every game.
Prizes will be announced later, but each winner in descending order will have their pick at several choices of loot - partly inspired by Wheel of Fortune and partly inspired by Cardboard Junkie's Blaster Fantasy League. To get an idea of some of the prizes that will be up for grabs, you can check out the original post here. I plan on making a couple of shopping trips this weekend before I have the prizes all ready for everyone, so look for a post first thing next week.
I'm a winner! The contest made me watch way more game than I normally would. Next year, have us donate the prizes.
ReplyDeleteI'm expecting a Padres junk wax common, with creases and centering problems. :P
ReplyDeleteThanks for the contest -- I had "fun"!
Once again, my complete and utter ignorance about non-baseball sports pays off! Great contest and thanks for making me actually pay attention to some bowl games this year! -Andy
ReplyDeleteCool - thanks! And I know nothing about college football - just picked all the favorites!
