Adam Wainwright
returned to the mound today for a game that someone kept score in for the first time since September 2010. I figured now was as good of a time as any to show off the Diamond Die Cut redemption I got from last year's Topps giveaway bonanza. It's not much to feast your eyes on when you look at an image, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that these cards are more substantial than your garden variety base set insert. It's thick, shiny, and even comes with a protective coating that resembles a thinner version of what the old Finest cards used to be layered with. Not bad. I'm starting to wish I went after these a little more than I did.
I'm cautiously optimistic that Wainwright can return to form this season. He is truly one of the best starting pitchers in the game.
