Traded and Claimed

Just a quick post night as I try to sort out who has been stealing my mail. (Seriously, I have lost track of or just plain not received several packages lately, some more important than others.) I recently swapped a few cards with ARPSmith's Sportscard Obsession, swapping mostly Topps Update goodies for Topps Update goodies. I have to say that I am really liking this gold parallel thing. It makes me continue to go back and buy loose packs, something that Topps undoubtedly had a sucker like me in mind for when they decided to go this route.

I feel like two Brian Fuentes cards on this blog is way too many, but here he is again. Hopefully his abrupt departure was nothing personal against the Cardinals and that he's been able to sort out whatever it is that he's sorting out. If she shows up next year as some NL Central team's closer, however, I am going to be pretty peeved.

The Cardinals already have a bunch of hulking "4 corners" types on their roster right now, so it will be interesting to see if Matt Adams can produce at the major league level - if he's even given another chance.

A Gold card of the Gold (and now "Platinum") Glover. Nice.

I also claimed a few free cards from the always fun Crackin' Wax's "Take My Cards" section. Not pictured are two LeGarrette Blount cards that I will save for a rainy Ducks day and a Heritage checklist that nobody cares about. This nice Bowman Chrome X-Fractor of Cardinals prospect Mike O'Neill was the true prize, anyway. The outfield prospect is still trying the AA level on for size, so it will be fun to see how he progresses through the system. One thing I can't knock about Bowman cards is that they help create a little interest in your own team's prospects when you're a die hard team collector like I am.

Now, quit stealing my mail and get off my lawn!

  1. Hopefully you got the package that I sent you about a week-and-a-half ago.
