Clearly Canadian.
It's almost time to switch in to vacation mode at Cards on Cards central, but Cleveland Browns enthusiast Angus of Dawg Day Cards sneaked in an envelope full of stuff just before holiday time. What kind of stuff, you ask? Canadian stuff! At some point I either purchased or was traded the entire 1991 O-Pee-Chee Cardinals team set, but ended up missing Lee Smith somehow. Along with knocking off another pesky Most Wanted card, Angus sent over a bunch of other really nice Northern needs.
This is now one of the oldest O-Pee-Chee cards in my collection. Of course, it's hard to be convinced of its Canadian status without checking out the back of the card.
Here's the reverse, all bilingual and brighter than it's U.S. counterpart.
Angus also found a crazy good oddball for Erin's Larry Walker collection in the form of this 1993 Humpty Dumpty mini card. Humpty Dumpty is apparently some sort of snack brand. Food inserts are much better than regular old inserts if you ask me.
This one is from the How Did I Not Have This Card? Dept. I must have somehow confused this with the 1982 Topps Traded card, but I'm not sure why. In any case, it's unique Ozzie #583 and easily one of the best cards I've received in all of 2015.
Even Garry is shocked! Please, no one tell him he's going to get traded and miss out on a World Series ring.

ReplyDeleteThe Walker card came out of a bag of Humpty Dumpty chips. I always think of them as an eastern Canadian thing (Ontario and to the east) but I'm sure they were also sold elsewhere.
