Contest Update and a New Mailing Address

Don't forget to enter the contest and make your picks!

We're closing in on the deadline for another Cards on Cards Pick 'Em Party Where You Get Free Cards... okay, there's probably a better name for this. Go here and get the details if you haven't signed up yet. If you have signed up, this might be a good time to make your picks.

In other news, I have a new mailing address. Please contact me via email or Twitter if you'd like it. Even though I haven't moved, you probably shouldn't use the old one as the wonderful stuff that you send me might get stolen. Merry Christmas, me!

Fellow NFC East fan Jeff from One Man's Junk (Wax) happens to live on the wrong side of the Eagles/Cowboys rivalry, which may have been what prompted him to pawn off some of his Philly stuff on me. Asante Samuel torched Donovan McNabb and the Eagles in the Super Bowl some ten years ago, which prompted a "if you can't beat 'em, make them join you" signing of the future Pro Bowl corner.

Calvin Williams is from the era of the height of my Eagles fandom, which happens to not-so-coincidentally overlap with the year Tecmo Super Bowl was produced. Williams was WR option #2 in the game for QB Eagles. Because of my obsession with the game, I was always convinced that Williams (and Fred Barnett) were worlds better than they really were.

Jeff also sent a bunch of Eagles cards from before the days when I knew what was going on in the NFL. I don't know my Eagles history all that well prior to 1989, folks. The cards look pretty fantastic, though.

Finally, a fixture at the microphone during the McNabb days, if not so much on the field: FredEx. Mr. 4th and 26 himself. I didn't care for him in college (with my Pac-10 leanings heavily rooted in Duckdom) and he didn't do a whole lot on the field in his time with the Eagles, save for that one huge play against the Packers. They should give the guy a bronze statue anyway.

  2. Dude, that's why people keep stealing my stuff. Stick to gum stained 1988 Topps cards when you send things to me!
