Airbrushed Fridays: 1986 Topps Traded #67T

I'm still more than willing to take requests or submissions for this Airbrushed Fridays project. I get plenty of unsolicited requests for link exchanges and offers to sell cards to me, but I'm still waiting for the day when someone has some awful looking airbrushed cards to send or suggest. I'm just sayin'...

Steve Lyons was a journeyman outfielder who was perhaps best known in his playing days for inadvertently dropping his pants on the field in the middle of a game. I'm still not entirely certain how that ever made sense exactly. "Psycho" Lyons became a broadcaster after his playing days were over, with a Wikipedia entry filled with racially insensitive remarks.

Why did Topps airbrush Steve's photo? Lyons was Chicago's return in the Tom Seaver deal. He actually spent three separate terms with the Red Sox, the team he was drafted by and retired with.

What's wrong with this picture, anyway? This card is actually fairly well done. My only indicator is the SOX logo on the cap, which by the following season would be replaced by a new, short-lived 'C' logo.

(If you are interested in obtaining a card featured here - but not this one - please send me an e-mail. If you have a card you would like to nominate for Airbrushed Fridays, please get in touch as well. I will require that I am able to see the card in person, either on loan or as a donation, so that I can examine the card and experience it in all its cruddiness.)
