Good Luck Ducks, Week 2: Quacky Top

Week 2 of the college football season is upon us, and the Ducks have yet to be scored upon. Oregon faces their first actual test (let's call last weekend's 72-0 win over New Mexico a pop quiz where all of the answers are at the bottom of the page and upside-down) when they face the Tennessee Volunteers for the first time in their Ralston Purina-approved Neyland Stadium. The Ducks are 12-point favorites, despite having to go on the road against a historically tough SEC opponent in a stadium that can almost seat the entire population of Eugene.

Hilariously enough, the Tennessee football team apparently has extremely poor "shower discipline." Yes, that is exactly what it sounds like.

On a down note, Demetrius Williams was one of the final cuts by the Baltimore Ravens this week, after his total yardage has slipped every season since his rookie campaign. Let's hope he catches on somewhere else. He was a great, tall, automatic target throughout his Ducks career.

Since the Ducks have never faced the Vols and I already used footage from Oregon's last trip to a 100,000+ capacity stadium (Ducks won 39-7), today's YouTube footage is actually going to be from last week. There was a lot of fun last week, so why not look at it again?

Game time is 4:00 PDT (7:00 local time) with television coverage on ESPN2. Let's hope all of the playing of Rocky Top during heated practices this week pays off!

  1. The ducks toyed with them for a while and woke up in the 3rd quarter. Pretty explosive team. These Ducks are a lot of fun to watch. Good luck on the season.
