Quick Group Break Poll

Who wants to see the hits?

The group break is basically filled at this point (just need to find someone's porch to ditch the college hoops cards), and I'm about ready to start sorting this stuff. Here is the question - do you want to see some of the stuff pulled from these boxes, or do you want to be surprised? Feel free to comment here or yell at me on Twitter. If I don't get much of a response, I am going to lean towards surprising you all, because I love surprises. That being said, when I pay for a break, I do sometimes go to a blog to see if there was a post where some stuff was scanned. But then again, this is basically a freebie.

I grabbed a few more minor league packs at the card show as well as a handful of cards from a nickel (marked down to 4 cents in bulk) box that I will add to the final mass. One of the fun cards that I bought for myself was this "1st Bowman Chrome" card of Jose Martinez, who is now the heart of the Cardinals offense some ten years later. Martinez had an extensive tour in the minors before having some success with his first extended big league duty last season as a member of the Cards. The man they call Cafecito somewhat famously destroyed PCL pitching to the tune of a .384 average and a batting crown in 2015 with the Royals AAA affiliate, but never got a call-up until the Cardinals came calling. I probably won't ultimately become a Jose Martinez super collector, but it was a fun card to find for four measly cents!

  1. I would prefer to be surprised by the cards you pull. Maybe share an update from time to time on how the break is going. I have never been disappointed in cards that I receive from you.

  2. I don't think every hit, but maybe a couple as well as a few interesting cards. I'd like to see something versus nothing, especially considering how generous you're being with the break. Show it off a little!

  4. Surprises are fun. Maybe a couple packs, just so you can show the looks and such. I'm sure most bloggers will show off what they got anyways. At least I plan to and give a hearty thanks to you as well as a link to your page (if by some chance a follower of mine doesn't follow you).

  5. I know I'm in the minority here, but I'd vote for "live" posts on the break. I don't necessarily need to be surprised by them in hand. Maybe I'm just impatient. Also I like to see other folks' cards too, and not everyone has a blog.

  6. I vote for the surprise element .. it makes opening the mail more fun.

  7. As you know I don't have a blog of my own, so unless the hit comes with it's buddies in the pack, it won't pop up on APTBNL, so I'm going for seeing the hits. Thanks again for the giveaway!

  8. I'm good with either option, though I do enjoy seeing what other cards are pulled too.
