Good Luck Ducks: The Natty

It's finally here. Oregon and Auburn will play for the National Championship tonight in Glendale, Arizona. This game has been analyzed to death, then reanalyzed and analyzed some more. 37 days between games will do that to you. Not only do I not know what to say, but I don't think I could possibly say anything that you can't find on thousands of other websites. These teams have been getting around-the-clock attention on ESPN and other sports-related channels. I'm pretty certain that they're even selling Duck gear on the Home Shopping Network right now.

I will say this: I expect Oregon to win tonight. I don't think it will be close. The prognosticator in me picked the score to be 20-17 with Oregon winning in our contest because it seems like every time you get two high scoring machines together, the game is never a high scoring one. If I had money riding on it, that's what I'd go with, but my gut says Oregon will win handily. I think they will avoid the pitfalls of last year's Rose Bowl and play the game the way they always do.

The last time Oregon was in this position, the BCS system deprived them of the opportunity they deserved to play for the title. They've since adjusted the system. This is what happened:

Game time is 5:30 PST on ESPN. Watch online on ESPN3.com or elsewhere if you aren't going to be near a TV. Go Ducks!

  1. I will be pulling for the Ducks 2nite. Of course I am not sure I will make it to the end - Game runs a bit late on the East Coast.

  2. Well, I think Auburn wins by at least two TDs, but I would rather see Oregon win to make the Pac-10 look better, thus softening the beatdown Stanford gave my Hokies.
