Happy Holidays from Z-Bo

A former Blazers star makes a great stocking stuffer.

Now that I finally have my mail heisting situation under control, I can show off a few of the things that actually made it to my neck of the woods without getting intercepted by the neighborhood bully. The always excellent Mark Kaz of This Way to the Clubhouse sent over a Zach Randolph jersey from the days where Z-Bo, for better or for worse, was the heart and soul of Portland's team.

The Trail Blazers were at one point the most consistently playoff bound team in all of professional sports, with a streak of postseason appearances that ran from 1983 through 2003. Zach Randolph began to emerge as a legitimate NBA talent in Portland's final playoff series of that 21 year run. He then cemented himself as the star of a team that was suddenly allergic to success, until a youth movement and clash of "culture" forced him out.

These days, you can find both Z-Bo and the Blazers in the playoffs with frequency -- with different uniforms, of course.

  1. Of course I didn't read about your mail-stealing situation until after I mailed this to you! Glad it found its way to the proper owner.

    Happy Holidays!
